The European Model Flying Union (EMFU) was formed by representatives from 11 countries at a meeting in Friedrichshafen on the 28 October 2016.
The EMFU was formed to ensure the 500.000 model flyers within Europe are strongly represented in ongoing negotiations with EASA and the European political system.
In Augsut 2016 the European aviation regulator EASA has issued draft rules to adress the operation of Unmanned Aircraft that would have a detremental impact on the existing safe operation of model aircraft in EASA states.
The EMFU is compriesed entirely of Associated model flying Organisations.
At the time of foundation, the EMFU represents 180.000 model flyers and invites all model flying organisations within Europe to join with us at a time when model flying is under threat from inappropriate regulation.
